Boy, what to do?

Do all 6. 7's come with E brakes or is it option?

Was lookin at 05 6speeds, now lookin to see what kind of deal can get on 07. 5 6. 7. I really was leanin' to manual, but maybe new auto will hold up????:confused:.

Any experiences?

:confused::confused::{

Yes, all 6. 7's have the e-brake. It is an integral part of the turbo, and much stronger than regular e-brakes.

The Auto has two more speeds, and should be much stronger, and runs lower RPM on the highway.

Man after having the new truck for the last week and using the e-brake this thing ROCKS! the e-brake on my 05 was not even close to this set up. it will slide the tires on down shifts! other than the mileage it is the best one so far. great power in stock form, the 6spd auto is great and tows great, rides better than the 05 2x4 long bed, and no wind leaks like the 05. the 96,01,02,03,05 were no compairson to this one. so far this one looks like a keeper!!

I agree with the comments above, but have a manual trans in mine. I absolutely love the e-brake with the manual, just wish I had a 7th gear for highway when unloaded!! At 65 mph I am spinning at 2k rpm.

E Brake

I am going to say it again... This Exhaust brake is really amazing. :D I towed this last weekend for the first time in the mountains. Now granted I wasn't towing a 6 ton trailer but the estimated total including the truck was about 16,000 pounds and at times I had to use the throttle to keep up enough speed going down the hill. Some of the grade was 6% and wasn't exactly straight with many tight corners. Lets put it this way its steep and curvy enough that they have two truck escape ramps for runaway trucks. Select 'tow/haul' and turn on the E brake and talk about some braking without using the brake pedal... I hardly got to check out the Brakesmart. :D When you do step on the brake pedal be prepared for some serious slowing down as it feels like the transmission also downshifts to help out even more. Anyone out there towing big trailers I think will be very impressed with this engine, transmission and ebrake setup.

Yep in tow/haul it brings the speed down real quick!! those down shifts are wicked, empty on the city streets it will slide the tires on down shifts in tow/haul!!

Yup the tow haul is very aggressive on the down shift with the EB and delays its shift up to 5th and 6th. I don't think I will be using my tow haul mode pulling my trailers over passes though in the winter and not the EB for sure. Might be a bit to aggressive on the down shifting, guess time will tell. I do love this set up so far though.
