just baught an 08 6. 7l and im thinking bout doin an exhaust. . any recomendations? and in tennessee i do have to run through emisions so it has to be emissions friendly. also i heard exhaust will throw codes so... . any help is great
My recommendation is leave it alone. Removing the muffler won't change the sound or sound level and tampering with anything else will set codes and cause you to fail a real inspection.
Exhaust modifications will do nothing for performance or fuel economy.
I installed the "muffler delete" pipe on my '08, it made no difference whatsoever... Leave it alone x3 (until someone makes an entire emissions/computer friendly system).
The only thing you can do would be to install a different muffler, or stacks, or one of those "dual" exhaust systems. If you have emission inspections, and you want to remove the emission stuff, you're playing Russian Roulette with a Glock. Not very wise...
If you want more sound, I think you may be out of luck, since the emission equipment pretty much kills all the sound.
