Historically my Corvette has been the problem child for insurance. On their all-knowing 23 point scale, it ranks a 21. My '05 ranked an 18, and they told me the "average" car is a 12.

My 6. 7L is a 21 - same as the Vette. That sucks. So apparently:

23: Lamborghini

22: Ferrari

21: Dodge Truck/Corvette

.

.

.

12: Kia?

.

.

.

1: Motorized rollerskates/Yugo

Interesting. I just sent an e-mail to my insurance man to see what the price symbols are on my 2000 Corvette and 2005 CTD.

Who are you insured with?

Over 25 with may be one ticket at the time put my truck at $1600/year with AAA.

I got a few 5 overs's a few years ago and I've been paying just over $2000/year as "high risk". heh.

Five over, what's that? :D They seldom even bother with that down here, outside the city limits, unless they think you're breaking some other law that might actually make them some big $$$.

I pay $900/year (full coverage) on my 05 thru USAA (military and their families only). They're one of the best deals out there.

I get tickets for putzing following traffic, not doing 110 in a 40 racing someone... ... I don't get it either.

Mine is $1476 a year for full coverage on my 2003 here in the great state of "no fault" Michigan. Deductables are both $500 and I am with Nationwide. Plus I am sure being 25 does not help my cause either.

No fault SUCKS! I had a fender bender where some un-licensed southern immigrant that couldn't speak English rubbed his mirror down the side of my bed. Not a dime outa my pocket to get things all fixed up! including rental car! Thank god his rather legal family member had insurance tho.....

In Michigan, that would of gone on my record should I have had claimed anything (at $650 in damages, I would of paid it with my $500 ded and not claimed)

I think chrysler/dodge insurance is expensive because chrysler thinks all its parts are made with gold. The same part on a chevy or ford is less $$ to replace.

Just to answer some of the questions - I am insured with Country Insurance and Financial Services, and I am located in Tucson, AZ where trucks dissapear faster than tequila.

AAA raised my rate $200 because, I, in their words, "drive too much". They bumped me up to almost $1500 a year. I JUST switched to Wawanesa, $1049 per year, same coverage.
