Ok. I have read all tho posts I can find and no strate anser.

With the G30 recall what is happening after the new part and the reflash is done. More MPG. Less MPG. More codes. Less codes. the truck in question is a 2007-6. 7 . never had a light come on. Runs good and lots of power. MPG hand figured 15. 0 to 15. 4 empty. Wont to install Juice with attitude after G30 if we have to have it done. . Service righter at Dodge said it is you truck and if you do not wont the G30 that is up to you. I can not figure out what the G30 douse or the reflash.

Any help wood be greatly appreseater

Thanks

G30 and MIL Light

I had the G30 done on my new 07. 5 last week. The truck seems to be getting better millage and is definitely more responsive. I won't know for sure on the millage thing until I run a few tanks through her. I did however, pop a MIL light about 200 miles after the G30. The light might be due to the -30 weather here in the Yukon and not the G30 update. I will pull the code tomorrow when things warm up to -15.

Cheers,

Chris

What I've read on other forums is the G30 recall and latest flash has been a improvent in mpg. No ones yet to be negitive about it.

G30

Got my recall email two weeks ago. Took the truck in to replace the rear tail light I broke and they did the recall while it was in. My truck had 3000 mi at the time and never had a code or issues. I was getting 14. 9mpg hway. Latest 300mi excursion calculated to 15mpg..... No codes yet either.

Okay, I'll be the first with adverse reactions to the G30. Mileage has plummeted since my recall about 3 weeks ago. As well, I now have 3 codes (P2262, P245A, P0128. ) Prior to the G30 recall, I only had one code at 4,000 miles. Currently I am at 12,000. Appointment is for this Saturday.

I had the G30 recall done during a routine maintenance last month. Before the recall the MIL light had only been on once for a brief time. The first startup after bringing the truck home resulted in the MIL illuminating and remaining illuminated. Took truck back in... read some codes... end result is they replaced my turbo. MIL has not come back on since the turbo replacement. I don't recall what the codes were but they are published on the service document.

My mileage has definitely dropped since the reflash... at least 2 probably closer to 3 mpg.

The diesel tech at my dealership explained the G30 consists of replacing and O2 sensor module (not the sensor itself) and updating to the latest flash. The O2 sensor in not in the engine control loop - it does not affect how the engine runs. It is diagnostic only. Apparently bad modules would keep the truck from setting a code when it actually should. Thus it is no big surprise if someone throws a code after the recall - nothing has changed, but now the truck actually knows something is wrong. The SW update contains all of the latest fixes for EGR and Regen. As far as mpgs are concerned, the flash should be the only variable.

On a separate note, I find it hard to believe a dealer would tell you a recall on an emissions related component is optional or "up to you".

I had several p245a codes prior to the g30 recall. I have not had a code since, I can tell no diff. in truck.

Went to dealer to day for oil chang and Services maniger said if the recale was not done, it could start voiding thing for I did not keep up with with the manditory recalls. If anything pluged up or something went rong it would be my falt and not Dodges . Had the G30 done and we will see what comes of it. they got you over a barrel and not a thing you can do but comply.

Thanks

In California you're not going to get your truck re-registered if any emissions recalls are outstanding.

anyone notice any change in exhaust brake action after the G30 recall? Mine was done about 3 weeks ago, but my son has been driving it being his 97 12V has a blown HG... .

I drove today and the operation of exhaust brake was almost zero, compared to before. Not sure if recall related, colder weather related, or something failed on the 07 July 31 inservice date.

Thanks, LUke

G30 Flash

I had the G30 flash done about 10 days ago and so far I can't tell any difference in MPG, Regen, power, nothing. Truck build date was April '07.

I am missing something or are all of these trucks 07 or 07. 5 trucks? Is there anyone with an 08 that has this problem?

I have an 07. 5 6. 7 and was contacted for the recall but I ordered an 08 Megacab and am tradeing the 07. 5 so I am not going to bother with the recall notice. The 08 Megacab was built on Nov. 22nd and I ran the vin to see if there were any recalls as yet before I pick it up Tues. or wed. but it came up clean. No recalls yet.

Here we go.

Had the G30 done last week and ran three tanks of fuil threw it.

New the truck got 13. 4 mpg.

5000 miles - 14. 1

10,000 miles-14. 8

11,854 miles-15. 4

All hand figured. I can acount for all fuil used from time of perchs.

Went to dealers to have oil changes and was told I had a G30 recall to do. I did not wont this recall but was told if it was not done, and my exost pluged up it belonged to me and there wood be no worrenty as I did not fallow Dodges gide lines. Had the G30 done.

*** a side note they said I needed my tire rotated and balenced. Ask what for and was told they were waring. Went out with the service righter and showed him four brand new steel studed mud and snows, Informed him befor they sugested things that cost money they should do a little more checking and he started back pedling real fast.

Back to mpg. Truck is now getting 12. 8 mpg. Not good.

Got a Edge Juce with Att. coming the day before Xmass and will install the next weekend and let you know what happends there, hope the MPG goes up. It was bad befor but this is BAD BAD.

No codes before or after,(about 3 tanks ago) but my fuel economy sucks. Not very good before but hasn't gotten any better thats for sure. just did a calculation today after puting 185 miles on it. put in 13. 44 gallons for that 185 miles.

Works out to a whopping 13. 8 mpg. I love my truck, just hate the fuel economy.
