I sold my 2001 HO 6 sp manual 3500 and upgraded to the 6. 7 6 sp auto a couple months ago and I am not sorry. I love pulling with this truck... effortless and quiet. The integrated exhaust brake and tow-haul mode on the auto is superb. I too am not pleased with the mpg, but a beast has to be fed.

I got mine in late june have had no problems just went on long road trip to california it was just over 1800 mi i now have 10000 mi and have had no trouble when I get in wifes truck I cant believe how smooth the 6. 7 is I love it wish fuel milage was a little better 15-17 on highway thats all I drive there is no city where I live :-laf

Took delivery early July and have 14,500 miles. No Problems other than had to get an alignment... . seems these rough Wyoming roads just won't let a truck keep an alignment. Great truck, smooth, quiet, great low end. Won't own a manual again with a transmission like this one... No regrets whatsoever.

I'll loan you my "favorite" horse and you too can have the custom racing stripe-ish tooth marks on your fender... won't take but a second and it will be a nearly one of a kind custom job and in lieu of payment you can take the horse home with you after the work is done

I see a lot of you like the Auto... how is the Manual 6 doing? smooth? easy to shift?. . notchy?

All these mileages are consistant with a new, tight engine. give it 20k and it will get better.

So are they, the dealers, saying that eventually, the sensors and EGR valves will improve and the flash programs will be solved like a year or 2 from now?. looking for a 4500 when I replace and Manual trans. I'm a truck driver and I need control.

what is the concensus of the turbo messing up? is it a design flaw or just one of those things?. . Is it connected with the reflash old program messup?. .

Starting out in second can be a lot trickier due to the longer stroke with the 6. 7. I start out in 1st because 1) GVWR is 10K+ and it would stall 50% of the time. 2) The gear ratio in 2nd seems to have a taller gear with the G56. Overall I like the G56 over my NV5600, but if I were given a choice when ordering I probably would get the NV5600 due to the HD of the NV5600 and the dual mass flywheel :( with the G56.

Love the new truck. Bought it while on vacation. Traded the early 01 which was still running great. It was chiped (Edge) and Ehaust braked. Main reason for trade was the new 6 speed transmission. Love it. Only bad thing is a consistent 2 mpg less. The old one got 16 commuting and 19. 75 on the highway at 70mph. New one get 14 commuting and low 17's on the highway.

Just turned over 5000 and have had the EGR P245 twice. First time took it to the dealer who cleaned the sensor and did the flash. Took to tries to get it right. That was at 3100 miles then 1500 later got the code. Unscrewed the sensor cleaned off the soot, the light reset and all is good. So I figure I'll clean the sensor prob every thousand miles. Takes all of five minutes while doing all the other regular checks under the hood.

2007. 5 2500 SLT Inferno Red longbed Big Horn edition. Stock till I can get some guages

Had my 6. 7 auto 4x4 DRW LB QC for 2 weeks. Dealer did reflash before I took delivery. 800 miles so far. Avg 14. 9 mpg from varied driving. For the power, performance and that heavenly exhaust brake, I'm very satisfied so far.

P245a code with check engine light today:mad: at 3040 miles. I was starting to think I wasnt going to have the troubles everybody else was. One thing I have noticed reading on this site and others is a lot of trucks built before June seem to have the DPF issues around 3000 miles. I have the Edge Juice W/ Attitude for the gauges only, i'm using the stock 0 setting. I can see when Regen. starts and stops, it has been about once per tank and last 12 min. The fuel milage drops up to 2 MPG but comes back in 50 or so miles. Water Temp. rises from 190's to 200-205. I talked to Wolf Dodge in Pinedale WY. about the AU flash and was told there will be a "New" flash around the end of October.

I still LOVE the truck despite going through the "BlueTech" Blues. Its just a matter of time before Dodge/Cummins gets it sorted out or..... the aftermarket industry!

I got my dodge from wolf pinedale and they now have a store in jackson

the tech is pretty good his name is Don they just did the reflash on mine last week before I went to california knock on wood I have had no problems. And it was the au flash. I am at just over 10,000 miles

Dean, Thanks for the Info. I saw the Wolf store in Jackson Hole this weekend. I hope I can get it done in Pinedale though as I am staying at Boulder and working in the Jonah Field. Have you noticed anything different since you got the AU flash?

At 2 months and 6400 miles, one CEL (dealer cleared the O2 sensor code and it hasen't returned) and no other problems. Got 18+mpg for the 1000+ miles trip (solo) back from Wisconsin last weekend. :)

Did not notice any difference that I could tell I am going to install my gauges this weekend so at least I can tell when I am in regen. well stop by the silver dollar bar and ask for me Ill buy you a beer. :-laf
