Well, it was time for the semiannual strip and wax. Since it was a hot and sunny day I had to keep moving the truck to keep the body pannels out of the sun so they could cool. I really need a larger garage... my truck will not fit in my current one. It would have taken longer if it was not for my orbital buffer.

WOW does she look good :D  :)

I used Mothers pre-wax cleaner, and Mothers Carnauba cleaner wax.

I even masked off all the black body moldings and the edges of the line-x... . then all I had to do was use a toothbrush and windex to remove the little bit of wax that got on the plastic

Boy are you fast. Once Ive decided its time for a wax it also means a complete detail. The last time was for Timberlines BBQ and I spent a week of evenings and a weekend getting it spruced up. I think I need a brew since it made me tired just thinking about waxing again. :D :D

Yup. Did mine just this last weekend. Started Saturday morning and finished about 2:00 PM Sunday. Orbitals are safer, but they are also slower. Gotta look into a regular buffer.

And you're right, sure looks good when you're done!

Just washed mine, took 1-1/2 hour and it wasn't even real dirty. Didn't even put any shiney stuff on the black. I often wondered how long it would take to wax it. I figured it would take at least 3 times longer that the Miata. From what you guys are saying I figure I should check the frige to see it there's at least a 6pk before I get started;)

Last time I washed and did the Mothers 3-step on it it took me 14 hours, a 30-pack, and a pizza. That did include the inner jambs and underhood:D

Of course I found the spots of paint separation:mad:

got a few of those also... . this paint seems to chip very easily also. Dodge needs to take a hint from GM when it comes to paint and galvanized body pannels

And I do it every month!

I've gotten my wash, wax, and Armor All down to about 5 hours these days, but that's cuz I get lots of practice. With the harsh sun here in New Mex, and due to the fact that they don't make garages in my neighborhood with truly obnoxious trucks in mind, I feel the need to drag my truck into the apparatus bay at work and give it a serious cleaning every month!

I don't mind so much. I'm getting payed while I do it, but the beers have to wait until I get off work. I figure that since I can't afford to replace it, I better take good care of the one I've got!

By the way, showing my American Pride, not only by driving a true piece of American Ingenuity, but there's now a nice American flag gracing the rear window. Looks mighty sweet.

Only 6 hours????

Now I can see why my 6 ft tall blonde gets so irritated at me,,SHEESH,,And I though all along it was cause I neglected the grass,,Seems she get a little weary of my WEEKEND project(every, now) of keeping my Flame Red ride clean,,Top to bottom and even polishing the plastic wheel wells,,Man when she sees you guys can do it in a shorter time I may be up the creek and not even have a canoe to enjoy,,Come on gang, your killin me here... ... Signed. . The Husband of a Disgruntled 6 ft Blonde with a bad additude for guys who polish their trucks
