I've been searching the archives for the answer to lifting the rear of my truck. Right now it sits a little too low in the back for me. It is 91 so it has factory 3 inch blocks now and I read that 6 inch blocks were installed in 92 and 93. Can I put these in and not cause any problems. I found a thread about this and a guy said they can role out from in between the axle and leaf springs which is something I'd rather not experience. I figure if they put them in the later ones from the factory I should be alright right?

And if i can get the factory dodge 6 inch blocks, can I just bolt them in and not mess up the angle of the driveshaft? And I will need to get different shocks too.

Thanks Alot

When I bought my 92 it came with the 6" blocks and I had the local dealership replace them under warranty with the 3" blocks. I believe the only thing in addition to the blocks that needed to be changed were the U bolts.

If you go with the 6" blocks. Dodge had a TSB out on driveline vibrations. Part of the cure was to add a 1/2" spacer between the carrier bearing and its mount. With the 6" blocks the driveline angles were to far out. The spacer droped the driveshaft to a better angle and stoped the vibrations.

I did this on my 89. Want to do it to my 91, still need 6"blocks. Reg cab no problem. Had longer u-bolts built, didn't do anything to driveshaft. You might need new shocks-longer ones that is. I never did, but my shocks were stretched out :D.
