Anyone want to trade a set of 3" lift blocks for my set of 6" (whatever) in my 01 3500 4wd?

I need to lower the rear and cant find a set. The salvage yards dont have any, they put them in the scrap metal bin :{

I don't remember ever seeing 3" blocks, I thought they only ran in even sizes. That said, I have a set of 2" blocks that you can have, u-bolts and all, just pay the shipping. Let me know if you want them.

Actually, look in JC Whitney, you can probably get a set of blocks with u-bolts for less than the shipping would be from New York, but they're yours if you want them.

I know what you mean. My lift blocks are factory and are called 6" but I can only measure 4. 75" between the axle tube mount and the bottom of the leaf springs :confused:

See the picture

I need to lose about 2" (and about 5" on my waist :( )

I thought you wanted the 3" blocks for a first gen? FWIW, 78-91 W models came with 3"blocks, probly went back further than that. 91. 5-93 W models came with 6" blocks.

I was told that 89-93 4wd had 3" ers.
Thats a negatory. 78-91 W models came with 3"blocks, probly went back further than that. 91. 5-93 W models came with 6" blocks. Also the 6"ers might have just been the 91. 5-93 W diesel models. But thats the year range for them.

Most lift blocks are tapered to keep the driveline at the correct angle, which may explain why your 4" blocks measure 4. 75" at the back. The 2" blocks I have are 1. 75" in the front and 2" in the back. If I remember correctly they cost around $43. 00 with new u-bolts also (JC Whitney). As I said, you can have them for free if you need them.

As for the 5" around the waist, me too. Let me know if you figure that one out. :-laf

I think they would be too short.

I measured mine and they are 4. 75" front and rear. The perch that is welded to the axle tube is setting the pinion angle because it is offset rotation wise.

Skyjacker makes 3" blocks, call National Wheel & Tire: (304) 233-7917. I got my whole lift kit from them (other than the 2" blocks, which I didn't use) they were fast and had the lowest prices I could find.
