Because I live in the mountains and drive 17 miles on dirt roads until pavement.

Aside from possibly hitting engine hours before miles that shouldn't have any effect on the OCI.

Never had a minutes trouble with my drain plugs, run them in 4 rigs now.

I guess I just got a run of bad luck with them. It was over a couple years I had issus, so I would have thought a bad lot would be ruled out. Maybe not.

Oil and filter is like debate, might as well talk Ford vs Chevy while we are at it.

Just like with the new SAE J2807 towing standards it makes Ram/Chevy/Furd debate that much easier when they are all compared apples to apples... filter efficiency is fact based, not opinion based. SAE sets the standards, not the filter manufacturer.

Thanks for the data. Since I have a dozen or so Mopar filters on the shelf, I will most likely continue to use those.

I'm with ya, Brother. I bought 12 Mopar oil filters from Genos, thinking they were StrataPore. After being educated they were not StrataPore, Geno's offered to take them back, but I decided to keep them and use them, since that is what came on my truck. I certainly know the arguments for the BETTER oil filters, but the Mopar is a good filter and if you have your oil changed at the dealer, that's what you get.

Trust me, I'm a type A and took me a while to not give my Mopar filters away and buy Stratpores. There's some other folks on the TDR using Mopar filters too, so we're not alone.

Cheers, Ron

YUP, same exact filters. I use the AMZ/OIL filter since it's less expensive.

I guess I am even pickier than you! I would have sent them back once learning they are not the best.

My Son schooled my that the AMZ/OIL-Donaldson is even better.

Ron, you're mostly right. It was my mistake and after weighing I'm not going extended oil changes, I kept them. Besides, I got free oil changes for three years from the dealer on my 09 4500, and used to grab small catch before oil changes and always got perfect oil analysis results with dealer oil and filters. That's where the rational me overcame the type A me. And, I just didn't want to take advantage of Robin's and Robert's fine business ethic.

It's all good...live and let live.

Cheers, Ron

You must get direct jobber prices. I have a dealer account and run the Donaldson as it’s a few bucks cheaper for me.

You have a dealer account with Donaldson?

My preferred customer account with Amsoil seems to give me the best price on the. EA 080's. I always find the discounted (pref cust account) Amsoils cheaper than the Donaldsons.

No, I have a dealer account with Amsoil and have always found the Donaldson filters cheaper. I usually buy them in sets of 2-4.

My last pair of Donaldson filters was $25.50, or $12.75/ea to my door on Amazon. Preferred Customer pricing on the Amsoil filter is $15.85 plus tax/shipping, so even if I got it without shipping it’s more expensive.

It’s been a while, but I was also buying the Donaldson locally for ~$14.

There is a pair on Amazon right now for $22.84, probably as cheap as I’ve seen the DBL7349.

The flow rate of the DBL 7349’s was one thing that really caught my eye.
