My original equipment (in 06) CD player has quit. Any suggestions on a reasonable replacement and also how to get the radio out? I looked a litltl at aftermarket stuff and seems to cost about as much for the adapters and interface as the replacement radio/CD. Thanks, bg

I just bought a new stereo and all the adapters for my 05. My CD player quit as well, and I wanted to give my wife (who drives the truck daily) bluetooth for her phone and music.

I found crutchfield to be expensive, but they know what they are doing and are helpful. I found what I wanted on amazon for about 45% cheaper. Ended up spending about $400 for everything, but you certainly could find a cheaper, and still nice head unit than the one I went with.

FWIW to you.

Thanks for the replies, I did go to Crutchfields web and looked around. DND, I will probably try to stay under what you paid, don't really listen that much but at times it is nice (like when I am waiting on the wife to do some shopping:() I still haven't figured out what pops off and what will break when I try to remove the radio. bg

stop to a local install area the put's in radio's and ask how it comes apart. that how I did mine. there may be two to three screws and the rest may be spring pins/clip's

Dr Dashboard installed a Kenwood 155U in my sig truck for $162. $110 for radio installed, the rest adapters and tax. Bad CD player was the reason for replacement.

Crutchfield is a little more expensive, but they typically include all the wiring harness adaptors that you need, and include vehicle-specific installation directions. Plus, you get free tech assistance if needed. It's been a while since I've bought anything from Crutchfield, but last time I checked, there were a handful of good options for under $200.

I have an 05, I've I've taken apart my dash bezel a few times. It's pretty simple, and as long as you are reasonably careful, you shouldn't have to worry about breaking anything.

Also, you might want to check youtube.com for installation videos. It's a great resource for how-to's.

Change out the unit for a bluetooth capable unit. I found out the expensive way when I purchased my iPhone and wanted to play my music library. U-connect is worthless, and my OEM NAV unit did not even have an AUX jack, so I installed a lockpick, (http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm) not only do I have audio but I also have Video.
