I am about to change my 6-speed oil and was wondering if the Redline or Royal Purple is good stuff to use and would it help the knotchy nv-5600 shifting its always had, and how many pints or quarts does it take, thanks anyone.

isnt the Pennzoil the factory fill. ??? My fliud looked new BUT the with Amsoil the differance was noticeable in the first 1/2 mile

At the time I purchased the Pennzoil fluid; Amsoil did not make a fluid that was compatible with or more accurately, specified for the NV5600; so I got the Pennzoil.

If you don't watch South Park you're not going to get this.

:-{} You guys are really starting to *tick* me off. Oo. Are you calling my NV5600 notchy? Why don't you all go drive a Ford 6spd once and tell me what you think of your NV5600 then? Notchy my *rear*!!! Screw you guys, I'm going home. :-laf :-laf :D

BTW, I've got Amsoil 5w-30 Series 3000 with almost a qt. of Lucas in mine. Can't really tell any difference. Maybe a little bit easier, but not any smoother. Next fill will either be factory or Ams MTwhatever it's called.

I ran Mobile straight 50 synth in my '01 for about 30K before I sold it. Found out after I bought this one that I ain't supposed to use that stuff 'cause it ain't made for synchros. Anybody need almost four gallons of manual transmission oil. Shifted just fine and didn't make any odd noises or blow up. Must be OK then, right. :-laf

I put Royal Purple in my '03, still have a hard time putting it in 1st and Rev. , maybe it's the BD short shifter that I got. I didn't notice that much of a difference from the stock oil. I like the shifts of my NV4500 better, I converted a '83 chevy auto 1 ton.

Thanks for the info guys will get 5qts and think I will try the Redline MTL, who has the Amzoil fliud just so I can compare?
