See'ya down the road Michael

I have 69,700 miles on my 6 speed in my "99".
No probs so far. It has always made a funny noise when first let off the clutch til the rpm's get above 1100 then the noise quits. I changed the transmission oil at 50,000, DC says ya dont have to but I feel better. Lou

i too have the 2nd to 3rd problem. i now have over 8k miles on the truck and it's the only problem i have.

I have occasional difficulty shifting from second to third, having to "feel around" to engage third. Could this be the syncros or just normal for a new stiff six speed?

11K and it just keeps getting smoother. Oil change at 10K helped alot...

CUMINNTSTRKN:

As your mileage builds on the truck, so too will the ease of shifting from 2nd to 3rd. 18K on mine now and it is still a little difficult to get into 3rd sometimes if I don't hit the grove just right. It does get better, please be patient. BTW, I remember a gasser Ford I drove last summer that you could just flop the shifter into the gears without using the clutch or timing the shift with the pedal. Can't wait for my beast to let me "flop" the shifter in #ad
