6-speed in Standard Output

Doe's anyone know why the 6-speed standard transmission isn't being offered in the Standard Output Cummins 24 valve in the 2003 ?

It was only offered with the standard output engine for 1 year or less before the HO came out. I think it was 1999 or early 2000. Since then, the only way to get the 6 speed is to get the HO.

Probabely because of cost's . If it don't need it - it don't get it. DC more than likely has a contract w/ NV to use so many of each transmission 4500 and 5600 and saves money by using both instead of going exclusively w/ the 5600 . JMHO , Thomas

I have a 99 model 3500 with the 6 spd and standard output. A very notchy transmission but it always has just the right gear for the situation.
