6 speed oil from Texaco $2.18 a quart

If you don't want to get ripped of at the dealier, buy your 6 speed oil from a Texaco distributor. I just paid $2. 18 a quart plus tax. They even delivered it to my door #ad
Smallest jug is 5 gallons, I paid $43 and change plus tax. I believe that's less than 4 quarts would cost from the dealier...

There is no "rating" I can find for this oil. The topic of 6 speed oil has been discussed quite a bit on the TDR forums, so try a search if you're interested. I am sticking with Dodges recommended oil for now cause I don't want any hassles from Dodge if I need any waranty work done (knock wood - truck has been completely trouble free so far... ) What I purchased is what's listed on the sticker on the 6 speed case. The dealier put's the same oil in quart bottles and charges $10 extra to do so #ad

My local Texaco dealer did not have a listing which had him almost sending me away empty handed, but he was very helpful, called his Central distributor, and found that he could in fact order it for me. So be aware that the listing may be hard to find, ask your dealer to keep looking or call someone. Ask for Texaco Code 1874 MTX Fluid.

The only issue is that I won't use all five gallons before getting into shelf life issues, but even if I get one extra change I'll save $50 compared to buying a quart at a time from DC.

Sweeet... as Cartman would say. Start by calling the 800 # listed in the specs link posted by HC. There are distributors all over the place, and if you're close enough they may do the same for you. Even with a shipping charge, it'll still be cheaper than the dealier price.

Dane, when you say "they delivered it to my door", did you mean the oil was shipped to your house (via UPS/FedEX/whatever), or did the dealer just drive it to your place? The reason I ask, is that I don't know where a Texaco distributer is near me, so I would gladly call the same guy you did. But I live a couple hundred miles from you, and therefore something like UPS/FedEX delivery wouldn't matter for delivery to my place.
