Want to get the "bung" for the temp probe welded into a cover before I change the fluid (no down time) and need to know where to mount it so it wont interfere with the gears (like how far from the front and how high from the bottom (using bolt holes for reference or ??). Want it on the drivers side and in the oil since the filter will be mounted on the pass side. I had the probe in the center of the filter on the y2k (5spd) and it always read low (not over 150). Figure it was not getting enuff oil splashed on it or it ran cooler due to the filter extension. This could also help others that may decide to have a trans probe as we would have a "standard" placement for the probe.
The rear Mag cover has the probe hole and that makes it a std place for those that run the cover.
