Hi everyone, and thanks.

The problems I have been having is I could not get into any gear from neutral without a real fight. In fact there have been times I have had to shut off the truck to get into reverse. I have 32k miles on it and the problem has been getting worse.

They found that I had a warped pressure plate. The throw out bearing was only hitting on about half of the fingers of the pressure plate. The tech also told me that Star said there is a piece inside of the slave cylinder that breaks and that the driver will not notice it?? They have had this problem on around 600 trucks. Although this was not the problem in my case they did replace the slave, the new one came in two pieces. Clutch looked fine no sign of extra heat but they did replace it along with the pilot bearing and throw out bearing. Also drained the oil in the transmission. No metal in fact it looked like new. The flywheel looked great you can still see the machine marks from the manufacturer.

The things I notice are:

1. The pressure you need to put on the pedal is real light, almost to easy to push.

2. The clutch engages closer to the floor instead of near the top.

3. IT GOES INTO GEAR NOW!

A warped pressure plate? Wow Mike, are you tractor pulling that rig and not telling us? ;) I know clutches normally have a 12k mile warranty, but did they cover you on this?

Hi Mike yes they did, shocked me. But like I mentioned in the post they have been having some kind of problems with the slave cylinders and they suspected that to be true with my truck.

Big difference is the clutch engages near the floor now instead of the top.
