6" Superlift What do you think??

Hey guys just ordered my lift today was wondering how you guys like it ??Planning on running 17x9 37x12. 50 BFG MT"s. Any clearence problems?Or anything else I should know ?How is it offroad handling so forth and pavement manners?Hope it is stiffer then stock ride I like it firm. Was going to go with Tuff Country 6" but Im taking your guys advice and going for the Superlift. . Aloha... ,.

5. 5 Tuff Country



I had a Tuff Country on 2001, and its safe to say i will never lift a truck again... It drastically cuts performance and fuel mileage. I can go faster in the quarter mile with the stock tire size. The truck does not wander anymore, and its much cheaper for tires. Just put a set of good looking 18's and some nitto tires and call it good. Of course this only my two cents dealing with lift kits.

6" superlift go choice. I 'm running the 6" superlift and so far so good. It absorbs the offroad conditions well. I am also running 37's on stock rims. its a little tight on the mud flaps had to a bit of adjusting. I think with a widder rim it will widen the tire therfore dropping the hieght of the tire a bit yet giving you even more clerance. But i will tell you one thing it definitly suck out some of her power turning them big tires and braking power will also decrease nothing to serious though. You will just have to bomb it.

I think the 3rd gen Superlift kit is a quality one, but I'm going to wait for the 7" Skyjacker long arm. I believe it will be well worth the wait.

i keep throwing the bump stops on the front when flexing the suspension, maybe five off roaders and both stops are gone, maybe superlift needs to redesign them to make them a bit more solid, only a plate inside the rubber, the rubber peals right off the plate, seems that allows the shocks to travel beyond their designed travel. other than that much stiffer ride which took away the tendency to roll in corners, i have the rock runner suspension (longarm), keeping all tires on the ground for traction is definately not a problem, these suspensions will twist!

I see you have the 6" superlift, but only 305's. How big do you think you could go without rubbing? 35's?

I have upgraded to 37"mtrs on stock rims and they work good. I don't think you could fit any bigger of a tire though.

big dave, do me a favor please,,grab a tape measure and tell us an honest hieght measurement of your tire.



i have 35x12. 5x17 bfg mud terrains on 8" rim and only have a 33. 5 in. tire. my wife has 315's on her 01 on stock rims and theyre almost 34".

i'm seriously contemplating going to a 37x12. 5 17 SSR swamper radial. i have been told by two people that the ssr will last as laong as the bfg mt?? anyone got anything good or bad to say about the SSR?



lastly, i havent heard anyone complain about front driveline clearence,(unlike my 01)

My bumpstops fell out the first time out on my 01 when i put the 4. 5" skyjacker on it. I went to the 4wheel drive shop and bought a set of cheby ones with the metal bracket and cut the top open to fit around the old bumpstop fitting and welded them in place they ended up being the same height as the slip in's from skyjacker.

I have a 6 in Skyjacker on a '97 1500 and it makes a great toy. I ended up changing the gears from I beleive 3. 73 to 4. 56 for a little better acceleration. The ride is nice, but obviously that is a different beast.

In regards to actual measurement they are 35. 75 inches with the wieght of the truck on them,and as for drive line clearence it is definitly tight with the front drive shaft. I had to have the caster adjusted all the way to help with the vibes.

does or did your front shaft "clatter" when in 4wheel all the time on flat ground? is there any clearence left in the constant velosity joint? i run 4-hi alot and cant have a "unreliable" front shaft that needs new u-joints every 2-3 months,(like my 01).



your tires measure out nice, now if someone would chime in with a 37"SSR "actual" hieght.

As for clearance the tech told me that it would be fine and not to worry about premature u joint wear,i guess i will just have to wait and see.
