I was impressed with the Smarty. . I ran a bracket race at Moroso yesterday, and I had to be faster than 13. 99. The truck feels fairly strong for what it is, so I tried the 60hp tune. . The truck is an 06 2wd with stock suspension and nitto 28. 8x12x18 drag radials. 60' was a 1. 87 (I originally thought it was a 1. 81), eighth was an 8. 48, and the quarter was a 13. 35@100. I'm removing 2 leaf springs, and installing caltracs when they come in. I feel the higher hp tunes and a little tweaking could put it in the lower 12's with just a Smarty and no stacking. . Just thought I'd share my results. .

The injectors are 90 hp Dynomite Diesel, and the turbo is a 62-14. . The 1. 81 was the best I could get for the 60'. It would hook, squat, then jump back up and start spinning. It's been 105mph in the quarter on the 90 hp setting, but that was spinning with street tires. .

I believe my EGT's were right around 14-1450 on this tune in the quarter. . I'm anxious to turn it up, though the event was a bracket race, so I wanted to go as slow as possible and still be in the 13. 99 and faster class. I couldn't boost it up too much off the line because traction issues. .

Traction issues, lol, all I have is a Smarty, muffler, intake tube, drop in Amsoil filter, roktec sensor and home depot air intake, my trans is stock (not for long) and I can't hook up for... ... ... ... you know. 2. 8 60' time and I still managed 14. 9 @ 98. That's on level 9 of Smarty. I was spinning through 1st and 2nd. This Smarty ROCKS!! On level 1 I'm more than happy for the street!

Level one is great for the street. . I was racing in level three. I can't wait to turn it up. . I have high hopes. . By the way, I had atleast 40 gallons of fuel in the tank, spare tire, hitch, etc. all on the truck. .

If I read your signature right you have a 2006 Reg Cab Short Bed 2wd 2500 CTD. I have never seen one from the factory in that configuration. Is it a conversion?? What does it weigh even with full street trim??

Your 60' times are excellent for you mods, must not be having too much trouble hookin up.

I cut the truck down when it had 2,000 miles on it. . Took 22 inches out of the frame, and installed the shortbed. . Believe it or not, I don't think it's any lighter than a factory long bed. The frame taken out was around 50-60 pounds, and I don't think the short bed weighs a huge amount less than the long. I also now have a 60 gallon fuel tank with a tool box in the bed, and a hard tonneau cover. The tank is located in the back of the bed for weight transfer benefits (and it was the only place it would fit). I had over 40 gallons of fuel in it at the track. . I also left the spare and everything else on the truck. I would guess it now weighs at least as much as it did as a long bed. The tank alone weighs 82 pounds. . The 1. 81 60' was the best of the day. That was around a 17-1800 launch. I tried doing it again, and it would just hook and then bounce up and spin. 1500 was the highest dependable rpm to launch at. I just checked, and the caltracs are scheduled to be here thursday. I'll install them, and take out a couple leaf springs, then go back to the track Saturday. I want it to run quick diesel in Bowling Green. .

The caltracs should help some, but unless you loose a little weight or add more horses might be hard to beat the 60'. With a 1. 81 60' I can usually get into the twelves on good 4wd launch around 20psi.

I've got a lot more power left. This was on level three of nine. . This was only the 60 hp program. . It was a bracket race, so I wanted to go as slow as possible and still qualify for the class. I'm guessing it should pull some lower 12 second times on Saturday. .

I think it is up to date. Wounded the engine when freeze plug blew on the track last Sept and have not really been on the track much since then. I don't have a lot of the mods all the high horsepower guys are running now, but with the triple stack and hard launches fairly consistent 12. 7s 1/4 @ around 104+mph. That is about all it could do in current configuration.

Sorry guys, I made a mistake. . The 60' was a 1. 87, not 1. 81. . I know it's not a huge difference, though I didn't want to mislead anyone. .

No problem, but in a 60' time that difference can definitely be seen in the 1/4 ETs. Even that 60' time is very good, the drag radials must be working pretty well.

Here's a couple pictures. .

The bed doesn't match well. . There was no smoke at all going down the track, and not much of any at the start. .
