Picked up my new truck on Saturday. A great big THANK YOU to BRayls (forum member) who got a Employee Choice number to me just before we were about to buy the truck.
The good and bad of the finalization of the sale:
Everyone was polite and as helpful as they could be. It looks like it will be a good place for service, they seem to mainly have trucks and SUV's on the lot. Fleet Mgr. said they had a couple of mechanics certified on the Cummins engine and had been for over fourteen years. The service and sales looked well kept and orginized. I was told the reason we got such a fast delivery for an ordered truck was that we had ordered in January and that all allocations were going to CA at that time. (or at lest that is what I understood him to say). So, four weeks was very fast from what I understand.
The bad was, it took all day to take delivery. Over five hours at the dealership. I believe this was due to the fact the they didn't know quite how to handle the employee choice program. Their Rep showed up and it all happened pretty quick from that point but boy, I wish they had been better prepared for the sale than they were.
The second thing was that they had used it for a test drive. ahem ... supposedly an honest mistake. The other thing was that the truck had not been detailed and either from the test drive or from a technician there was greasey hand prints on all the doors and greasey footprints on the carpet. Oh yeah and a deep scratch into the paint on the hood that they had to buff out. I know it's only a truck but it should have been pristine when we came to pick it up.
I've got about 300 miles on it now and according to the overhead its getting 15mpg. avg. (mixed driving).
