tracked my truck by it's rail car number today... .

number is:TTGX 604371. by tracking it said it's in texas and heading for Encantada, CU . where the hell is that? my dealer is in massachusetts! any of you know where that is? TIA... . james

A lot of the names on the UPRR site are names of rail yards and may not be on the map. Other's are. I tracked mine through about 20 enroute points using an on-line map site plus the maps on the UP website.

Here's one of the better ones on the UP website.

It's still in Mexico!

That UPRR tracking result is an empty car that has been sent to Mexico-

Track the car here while it's in Mexico. Their tracking system is pretty cool. You can see it on a map, and if it is part of a train -vs- being in a yard, you can see the engines and other cars.

It looks like the destination is Veracruz. It's either going down there full to offload to ships, or that is as far south as it goes, and it turns around and comes back through Saltillo to Laredo-then you can track it on UPRR until at least New Orleans.

My truck was shipped on the 7th, and as of Wednesday DC said it was still sitting on a boat in Veracruz. UPRR rail number said the same thing about destination Encantada, Cuba. Today I checked, and DC said the boat just left Veracruz, Mexico, heading for the Port of Baltimore. UPRR says the rail car is now headed for Ontario, Canada. This evening my sales guy calls and says the ship left Venezuela last week and today was unloaded in Baltimore; the truck headed for the big rail-to-truck parking lot in Annapolis Jct. Md. He expects the truck to be delivered early next week. Seems the dealer's weekly report gave the detailed itinerary right down to the name of the ship but the DC customer service folks are running at least a week behind. I thought my truck was a few weeks away, but as it turns out it's about an hour and a half from here. 'Course we all know how shippers can make that hour and a half ride last a week or better ... :(

James,

If you click the link above and paste ttgx604371 into one of the boxes it will show you the car location-the additional car boxes are to track multiple cars-you are only interested in the one. Right now it shows the direction as North with a dest of Veracruz-It's in Veracruz now, so the dest will probably change to something North of there soon. Watch it and see if the dest changes-it will eventually go back into US and you can track on the UP site then-I don't really know if your truck has been loaded to it or not. Now if your truck is going by boat from Veracruz there is no telling-you can always call DC back and see if they have any new info.

My guess is that you will not get it by 2/14-probably more like the end of Feb. :(

Oh, and I think that Encantada, CU is in Mexico, not New Mexico or Cuba. The state is Coahuila de Zaragoza, so I'm not sure where the CU abbreviation comes from.

Well finally after three long weeks my truck was released. Now

it begins the trip up to Chicago. The ETA is Feb. 20. It's coming by

rail, no boats. I just hope it makes the due date. Based on what

I read on TDR it's a real crap shoot if it makes it by that date. I

can't wait. I ordered a 3500 DRW LB, moten red. I'll let you know

when I take delivery.
