I've read I believe every thread on 600 poor mpg and how members feel the post event is probably contributing. What I want to know is what you all think about the notion that perhaps either a fueling or duration/timing box altering that event. Is a box the answer??

Thats a pretty major change, and would probably requrie that the box intercept and re-assert commands on the digital bus. Right now, Van Aaken is the only one out there playing digital. All the other guys including TST are doing analog fooling and/or analog control of the injectors (TST).

VA comes along and plays digital -- with their new duration box they are coaxing the ECM to control the injectors differently, producing wider pulse width without connecting to the high voltage injector solenoid. Maybe they've got something up their sleeve.

Eliminating the late fuel charge event would probably involve some very serious digital fooling. A box might be able to adjust the timing of that late charge (that would be cool). This sounds pretty out there to me at first glance. the 600 is a wierd animal -- to be able to control NOx without EGR is astonishing. The more sophisticated boxes may end up playing digital and have the ability to manipulate the multiple injection event. but that would be some serious stuff.

I think I'll contact Jannetty as I know they promote the usage of the VA box. Perhaps they have some insight or can look into this for the interested few. Tks.

indeed. if a box can work in the digital domain, and intercept and re-assert commands, this would be possible. I would blow the emissions of the 600 all to pieces, but it sure would be effective power wise!

We know that VA had already demonstrated effectiveness in duration in the digital domain. I suspect Edge abandoned its efforts to compete directly with TST (directly controlling injectors) and is probably working on digital stuff too.
