Does Dodge claim that this TSB will help milage or is it just for the cold weather hesitation?

What is the TSB number?

I have not noticed any hesitation, but then it doesn't get all that cold here in Tucson, but any imporvement in milage is always appreciated. Mines not bad considering it's new, but more is better.

The hesitation others are having is it when you first take off it doesn't want to rev up and go? Mine does that even if it's like 50 degrees. I am going to get the reflash and see if it does anything feels like the torque converter might be draining fluid out?

Does anyone have the actual wording of the TSB. I'd like to read it?

Does it specifically state that it should improve fuel milage, or just fix the hesitation?

I'm new to the forum. I have a 600 on order with a build date of 3/16. I really wondering if I should take the earlier '04. I haven't heard any of you knock it. I had read an article in Trailer Life that lays out the upgrades that were done on the 600 and with all the test hours they elude to, then you'd think it wouldn't be an issue. While the stumple concerns me, I suppose if enough dissatisfied owners keep knocking their door down then they can fix that,... . it's the mileage that I read in the forum that really is hard to take. I personally observed an earlier '04 get 27mpg @ 60mph, and 23mpg @ 65 and then we jumped it to 75 and got 19. 8mpg. That a far departure from the 9mpg I was reading about. That was unloaded and west bound (into a light wind) on gentle rolling highway. What is your input on whether I should take the 600 or get an earlier model. Your help is appreciated.

IMHO, the question is "do you tust Cummins?" If you do, you know they will make it right. This is not the Ford 6. 0 we are talking about here.

AFacey

Thanks for posting the TSB. It helps to actually read it.

I'm at about 18MPG now running 70 mph (flat freeway). This is my 3rd CTD and overall, the best so far. The 9mpg reports would scare me too, but that hasn't been the case for me. I hope others are seeing the mileage go up as I have.

I fully expect the mileage to continue improving and be right up there at around 19-20 like my others before.

P. S. I always hand calculate. The computer can be very misleading.

EXSTROKER,, are you driving a "600"?

I just drove from St louis to Philly and averaged about 19. 8. I picked up the truck and it had less than a mile on her. The first 100 miles I drove between the 1500-1800 rpm range Cummins reccomends. Then after that I stayed around 65-75. I also had the reflash done before I picked her up for her maiden voyage.

I think guys who say they are getting 8 or 9 mpg have to have soemthing wrong. I don't know if its them personally or what. maybe we have some secret Dura*** and Powerchoke people here.

600 with a auto got 18mpg while avraging 80mph, no reflash on this puppy yet. The trip was from Louisana to Florida this weekend. After this weekend it has 2,3XX miles on it.

Not to shabby!! :D

It's great to hear that the reflash is working and there haven't been any other problems since. The mileage numbers also sound very encouraging. I wonder if there's any correlation between the reflash and fuel mileage. I test drove a 600 auto this past weekend and it was fantastic. I really enjoyed it, except it sure was quiet. I can't wait!:D
