I have the opportunity in the next couple of weeks of possibly picking up a turbo off of a 2004 600 24v cummins and I am curious how the performance wil be. I have a 3000 gsk 215 injectors straight pipe and BHAF. I only get about 17 psi of boost with the engine running hard so I am curious if this will give me some more boost since the guy that runs it regularly hits 40 psi with his. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

The 600 turbo isn't going to give you any bump in power with your set up. Until you have enough fuel to push 35psi with your stock turbo you are not going to see any power increase with a turbo upgrade. If you want more HP go for a #10 plate or some 275HP or larger injectors. Larger turbos are generally a fix for high EGTs due to lots of fuel or compressors running out of their map, neither of which you have at 17psi. What year cummins do you have in your ride? Is it an auto or manual transplant?

I forgot to mention that I do have a plate but it isn't pushed forward very much yet. I assume that if I push the plate forward some more that should make a difference. It is a 94 engine out of a manual truck and I have a 6 speed behind it.

Ben, you need to get a boost elbow of some sort, your wastegate is opening causing the lack of boost.
