Competition Sled and Pulling truck for sale

Competition dana 80 mini spool

Its not really a problem to turn one that hard, I've turned my that hard in testing, to see what the accelerometer would do, and it was still positive , but way out of breath , I leave the line now at 4000 to 4300 and shift around 5000 , the sweet spot on power is about 4500. My motor never sees anything below 4000, after launch You will need valve springs and a cam profile to keep it together.

Word on the street is that two years ago at TIM, Milbys tattle-tale tach read 6400 after his pull that won him the pro class, with a street truck no less.

I can attest to the tattle-tale in Milby's truck that year as he was showing me the new S-W Gauge set. I will say it read a wee bit more than what you said above though. It kinda made my eyes bug out some, then I got a huge grin... ... ... Andy

. . . and some pople call a Cummins a "Cum-apart"

All of us in a almost no load situation can turn the big RPM's . The question is does it a diesel engine make power there . The answer is no , its just freewheeling to get tire speed up in tractor pulls , or store energy on the starting line in a clutch type drag engine . In reviewing some engine dyno sheets that have become available to me recently , the best pulling motors make good power up to 4000 and nose over hard after 4700. these are heavy fueled motors and would probably not drop off if you brought the fuel in line with the air flow in to the motor. Case in point in a research project going on now a aftermarket standalone controlled DuraMax Diesel motor with a stock turbo, stock bottom end , a air to water intercooler , and good set of cylinder heads , made 728 hp at 4600 rpms on # 2 only , this was not a one time pull , but a 25 minute full load pull . The amazing deal about this is the motor was absolutely smokeless, the remaining amount of fuel available for additional power was great enough to make considerable more power if it had a bigger turbo , or nitrous. This just reinforces what Ray and Myself have been leaning towards , that at some point over fueling is a hindrance , in making power , now on a fixed timing diesel , like a P-pump you don’t have the luxury of a timing curve , and the only way if making a timing curve is a chemical timing advance, IE methanol. But with a electronic diesel you can have 15 degrees to start , and 50 degrees at 5000 RPM’s

I have actually seen a diesel have high EGT’s with no smoke , my EGTs are close to 1900 in the traps with no smoke at all . this means the engine is burning 100 % of the fuel . I believe that a lean motor is a motor that will Rev Gain

been working on a few new cam profiles with Bullet cams ,these are some really sweet grinds that move some air . the cost of a billet cam is coming down.

Has nothing to do with nitrous eh?

Care to school us on proper Stoichiometric ratio for a diesel engine? Does it go like this?... 1 part diesel to 50 parts Nitrous? :-laf

It was cold in here... thanks for the hot air!

Who's dyno sheets do you have, or not have?

Nosed over at 4700rpm? This has nothing to do with the gov. setup?

I have quite a lot of information . but again your one of those that want to follow any post I answer , any derail the post with more of the whining about why I’m not worthy. I try and give some of my hard earned knowledge , thru the R&D projects I am involved with .

This knowledge is straight forward and accurate . My track number support this . go find something else to pound a keyboard about .

If you are so convinced that you and others could do what I have done , come on the waters fine and getting warmer , if your so good at this , get a truck like mine , surly some one would give you one with all your great knowledge . Maybe someone will give you a truck , and give you a budget to out run me. , but you might ask the other guys with their huge budgets , why they cant run , before you start in.

So..... what you saying is..... you don't know... Thank you!

I asked a simple and valid question. You don't have to be offended when someone younger shows a little bit of knowledge. :{

And, yeah, I am post stalker... WATCH OUT... . OoooOooooOOo :-laf  :-laf

Greg... what do you want for Christmas?

This is sad, no actually I'd say pathetic.

Someone asks a question about high performance Cummins and two knowledgable members have to start quibling.

I'd love to know how to build a 6000RPM motor. I don't plan on building one tomorrow, but maybe someday.

Flame suit on :-laf

See Comp the problem is the same old problem, someone questions something you said and all we get back is, "I'm the greatest, I I I ME ME ME ME I I I I I ME ME ME ME.

Knowing someone would question you just so you could hang your tool out and see how everyone measures up, get over yourself, Remember when Eddy Hill broke into the 4 second quarter mile? It didn't take long for others to catch him and shortly after he couldn't find a sponsor and disappeared.

Mike Tyson could whip Ali's butt, but Ali says he's the greatest. You might be the first but you're not the last and you won't be the fastest for long, someone always has to be at the top, right now I guess that could be you, enjoy it while it lasts. :D

they did a lot from 1989 till he retired. like win the world. I was there for some of this

Eddie and Ercie’s Top Fuel Dragster Career

1999 Back to 1985

1999

Career best speed/E. T. – 4. 520 seconds at 323. 74 MPH – which was #1 qualifier and track record at Topeka, Kansas on 10/2/99. Concussion from huge engine fireball (caused by failed engine block) injured Eddie’s spine during qualifying – Ennis, Texas. At next race a second engine block failure (brand new one on its first run) caused another huge engine fireball and subsequently compressed a vertebra in Eddie’s back. He missed the final race of his career – the only NHRA race he ever sat out due to injury - and made his last ride at a racetrack, leaving there in an ambulance. At end of driving career had made over 460 four-second runs.

1998

Runner-up in Big Bud Shootout.

1997

Survived horrendous finish line crash at Sears Point, California, while setting track record and qualifying #1. Broke three toes, burned shoulder. NHRA rule adopted that season now allows a driver to substitute another car in event of crash during qualifying, dubbed “Eddie Hill Rule”.

1994

Subject of documentary on Hill’s life shot in Wichita Falls, Texas

1993

NHRA Top Fuel World Champion (oldest driver to win NHRA Top Fuel World Championship at age 57)

- Tied record for most wins in NHRA in single season – 6 wins (plus one runner-up)

– Eddie chosen as “Person of Year” by Racers for Christ

– Eddie chosen by media as member of Auto Racing All American Team

– Eddie and Ercie serve as Grand Marshal and Official Starter of Detroit Gasket 200 Busch Grand National event - Detroit, Michigan

– Inducted into 300 MPH Club – ran 300. 80 MPH – Topeka, Kansas

– Car Craft Magazine “Driver of the Year”

– Competed in first career road race in Fast Masters Series for Racing Legends - Indianapolis - finished 9th of 50 drivers

1992

Became oldest driver to win NHRA national event – Gainesville, Florida; won Gainesville; runner-up six times; #1 qualifier at Indy, Memphis, Phoenix

1989

Survived spectacular finish line blowover at 236. 51 MPH - Pomona, California. Really bent the world’s first four- second car, which was rebuilt by manufacturer Dave Uyehara

1988

Became corporately sponsored by Super Shops and Pennzoil, with help from Dallas businessman Bill Bishop.

- Eddie’s first ever custom built dragster chassis built by Dave Uyehara

- Won first NHRA event – 3/88 – Gainesville, Florida. Also won NHRA events at Phoenix, Atlanta and Houston

– First four-second run in history – 4/9/88 - 4. 990 E. T. , 288. 55 MPH – Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Texas (“First in the Fours” in IHRA) – set IHRA E. T. and speed records. This car is on

– Set NHRA E. T. record at 4. 990 E. T. – 10/9/88 – Houston, Texas

– IHRA “Person of the Year”; Ercie voted “Person of the Year” by Racers for Christ; Car Craft Magazine “Person of the Year”; Hot Rod Magazine “Person of the Year”; Eddie and Ercie charter members of Cragar Four Second Club

I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts dooodooo... ... ... oh sorry guys i was daydreaming that someone answered my question i asked... ... all I've gathered so far is that they don't make much power over 4700rpm. Thanks guys

The Fat Kid

Andy

Sorry about that Andy, as you can see, anytime Comp replys the rest of us in the peanut gallery show up and ruin everything, Heck, I've never run the quarter mile and when I pull the sled I'm doing it at 3400 rpm :-laf
