Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 60lb valve spring install????

Ok I am gonna be installing 60lb here soon. My question is, whats the best/easiest way to do this?



I was thinking to myself, and I may be completely wrong. But When you adjust the valve lash, you find TDC, check it, losten the nut and adjust as needed.



Could you not switch the springs this way? Like change the first set and adjust, then bar motor over 360 and do the other 6? Or am I way off here? I just thought that made sence to me



As I said I may be way off here. If so please let me know. Or if there is a better or easies way please inform me.

Change them as long as they are not compressed. So bar as needed to uncompress them.

I was told to compress the springs with compressor, turn motor over untill I feel the piston hit, then change them in pairs. 1-6 2-5 3-4... ... . correct? Or is there a better way

The valve spring compressor from Genos works well. I bought the same one from someone else before Genos sold them. Note, you have to screw the 60lb spring onto the compressor a bit to get it compressed enough to get the clips in. Get a good pencil magnet for fishing out the clips. Not a bad idea to wear safety glasses or lay a rag over the clips when release the compression on the spring. I've seen the clips take off pretty good on other motors.

Tap the edge of the retainer with a small hammer before you install the spring compressor. This will loosen the keepers and make it easier to remove them when you get the spring compressed.
