Competition Pinks all out

Competition s300 to ht3b hotpipe

I know you guys get a lot of these questions... but here it goes.

I've got a local pump shop that will set my pump up to flow 650cc of fuel. I was planning on running a set of Dragon Flows, and a twin setup utilizing my HX40 and an HT3B (Piers Street). But now I'm thinking a Silver Bullet. My only issue obviously is spooling it. It would probably cost about the same to get my twins running, or buy a SB. Personaly I like the idea of running a single charger.

I talked to Brandon at II, and he said that opinions vary... some say that the bullet will light quicker than a hx40/HT3B setup, and some say that it will light a little slower, it all varies on how the truck is set up.

I'd like some real world experience here. What's your guy's opinions? Will the SB light quicker... slower??? Am I on the right track of hp in the 650-700 range on fuel only???

Your talking two different languages in turbo's! A Bullet and 3B is not a good combo, but a Bullet and a Big Brother is.

Why not talk to them about a Silver 62 and a modified S400 hybrid, it will lite quicker and be more streetable for a daily driver. I run a Bullet as a single at 600 hp..... day to day and I drive 350-500 miles a week... ... 650-700 hp is easy to do.

The Spool will be fine but I don't think the SB has quite that amount of air, maybe closer to a 35/3B..... depending on who tunes it!

The Bullet is fine but you are going to hit a wall at 650 on a 12V, the best I've done is 640..... not that I'm a know it all!

Seems the C/R is better suited, once you get to 600+ with a 12V... . no N2O you need Twins as you are having to over come too many obstacles.

BOTW, I'd doubt my pump is over 500 cc's

Jim

So Jim, when you are talking twins, I assume your talking large, like a SB/BB. I'm not against nitrous in any way, actually I was planning on running it. A wall at 650hp huh? Nothing a little laughing gas can't fix. Just curious, what are those obstacles?

I'm sure 700 could be done with a single turbo'd 12V but I'm talking a driver, like drive to an event! Gas... N2O... different story, there is power just waiting!

Hey Jim,

At Mopars at the Strip 2003, my '97 made 688; at May Madness 2003 Ol' Sickly made 763 hp on diesel only, single turbo--don't you remember :) Later made 800, diesel only, single turbo. So, sure, 700 can be done with the right combination, and I drove and towed with it.

What's up Joe! Man that was a long time ago wasn't it! Now I'm getting to the point you did, think it almost time to move on to another hobby and sell the 98'
