Happy Birthday

Anyone in Huntsville, TX????

I just aquired a '66 Mustang and was wondering where to get parts, ie... clutch assy. , tie rod ends, engine parts etc...

The driver side rear window is off track and any books with photos showing workings would be good.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank, Ron

My younger brother has a '66 289 2v 4speed, we just finished putting in a 351w with a DIY stroker to 410 cid :D traction is now an issue in the first 2 gears :D

Most of the engine, suspension and drivetrain parts should be avalible at Napa, for performance parts we usually useSummit Racing he has also bought quite a few parts from The Paddock I think nearly every part on a Mustang is available in the aftermarket.

Thanks guys!! It is a 200ci 6 cyl. 3 speed in the floor. The car is in excellant condition. Looks like a new vinyl top and the interior is perfect except some of the seams in the top of the rear seat have come unsewed. From what I've been told, it has been garaged all it's life. The clutch shudders and tries to grab starting in first. Also when trying to down shift to 1st when stopping there is a lot of grinding unless you stop, shift into third and then first. Some one told me the shifting mech. may be the problem not the schyro's. I'll check the links and locations you suggested. Thanks again. Ron

I'm pretty sure that your 3 speed is non-synchro in 1st and reverse so you have to use rpm gear match or complete stop.

The clutch shudder might be from a rear main seal leaking if it was not driven for awhile.

BTW - Nice ride - I miss my 68 Stang

BV, you may be right about the rear main seal. The engine is clean and dry, however, under the car, the bottom of the bell housing and transmission is very oily and nasty, which may be the rear main seal as well as lubricating the clutch assy.

Thanks, Ron
