After as much trouble (and money) we have had with this truck this year (it only has 160K miles), we are thinking about getting rid of it and find something else to pull our 15K trailer (which we have only pulled about 700 miles with this truck). We had the ecm go out in August, then replaced the gears and all differential bearings in late September, then the ball joints and one tie rod end in November (they were replaced at 90K miles with Moog previously) and now the transmission. It is frustrating and when retired on a fixed income it sure ruins your travel plans.

Yesterday I removed the front driveshaft and the high speed vibration went away. I put it back in clocked 180 degrees from what it was and the high speed vibration is gone. The other was still there with it out and in. That vibration is now there even in 5th and 6th when the torque converter locks when you are at relatively low speed/low rpm (1100-1250 rpm). It will do it even with the truck on jack stands. I went back to the transmission shop late yesterday afternoon and took the guy for a drive. He thinks it's the tight lockup of the triple disk TC transmitting any engine vibration down the system while lugging at that low rpm. I don't think so since it does it on jack stands too and not being lugged. I don't think it sunk in that it does it even up on jack stands. I have to take it back this morning for them to check it out. I guess there is a small possibility there is something in the rear end but it has all new gears and bearings with about 2000 miles on them.
