What to use for G56 output flange

Last year I put a EFI "tow tune" from Anarchy on my truck due to the soot from emissions taking out a second turbo. It seems that every 40k miles the truck wanted a new turbo.
I am now thinking about their transmission tuning for the 68 RFE in my 2009 2500 truck.
Is this a worth while expense?
I am curious about the shifting characteristics of the transmission tune and if it will be abrupt or shift smoothly. I do run the exhaust brake 98% of the time. A little less premature upshifting would be good.
Also does this put undue stress on the valve body or shorten the life of the valve body or any other component?
Are TCU's specific to a trucks VIN or can a salvage yard TCU be used?

Good questions, I have EFILive on my 07 C&C, but its the manual G56 and an autocal. I'd assume you'd have the ability to change the shift points, rather than a smooth or harsh transition, assuming you have EFILive V2. If its an autocal, then your subject to a tuners program, and should have that info, or tune it to your specs. The RPM's should help in the feel of the shifting of the 68rfe. I didn't like the 68rfe shifting points on the 2014 2500 CTD company truck, however it had the 3:42 rear diff. Looks like you might be the first here, to have EFILive just for the 68rfe, good luck if you decide, and please post your progress for us here in TDR land.

A good tune will make you fall in love with the 6 speed transmission. Offhand, you had better pencil in some upgrades to VB and other things, the crappy shift algorithms were due to the crappy setup just like the 48RE. Best to contact your favorite tuner or Revmax and get their feedback on a tuned stock transmission.
