I am considering trading up to a 07. 5 with a 68rfe, I am tired of the dealing with a dealer telling me I don't have a problem. I would like to do a DDT or something like it, but I would like the 4 doors and a exhaust brake. Anyway, how are they holding up???

At 11k miles, mine is doing great; not one glitch.

A friend of mine has a tad over 50k on his 2007. 5 RAM 3500 4x4 with a trailer load of hay behind it 90% of the time... ... . no problems what so ever.

Mine at 10. 5K has been flawless.

But - dang - that is a load of hay in the above pic.

Quick math - looks like 5x5 rolls, so figure 800-900 lbs a roll. 22 rolls on the trailer is 16Klb to 19. 8Klb. Add the 30 ft dual wheel trailer at say 7. 5K your towed load is 23. 5K to 27. 3K. Add the truck at 8. 3K total GCWR is 31. 8K to 35. 6K

Just a bit over the dodge spec for a 3500 DRW i'd say... . Good luck if you have an accident with a sue happy person...

I have just over 35,000 on mine, it has been pulling an 8000lbs, 24' gooseneck about 90% of those miles. The transmission has been great.

I'll be changing both filters ( pick up & spin on) in a week or so.

I'm not real fussy about the closed throttle downshift with the tow/haul on as it comes on when just coasting downhill.

it's a great transmission for an automatic!

When I was at Goerend Transmission Dave Had Just disassemble One 68re, its diffidently and upgrade, Just hoping for more ,We both agreed the shafting was not much better than the 48re.

I have 104675 Km on mine and it works great. Leave it in auto, select shift or in the tow haul mode it works great, every time. never a problem. Wish I could say the same about the pollution equipment.

The transmission is awesome. Only 10 K on mine, but it has been flawless.

The engine would be great too if you did the DPF delete and EGR block. When the everything is working right (DPF, etc. ) it is the best CTD ever. Mileage isn't the best, but would probably improve without DPF, EGR, and add a box that will advance the timing a bit. It's really quiet too.
