Hi,
I need a new column shifter boot for my '14. Not much luck finding any online, I came up with this number on many Mopar parts websites, no picture #68400287AA - Says "Boot, Gear Shift Lever". It's incl in list of parts for steering column. Ordered from one website, they canceled my order b/c it didn't match my VIN even though I searched using it?? Any good sources before I have to visit the dealer? Thanks!

I always google the part number: Amazon. Ebay, Moparparts4less, etc. Almost always find something better priced. Call the dealer for a priceso you pricewhat to compare to.

Cheers, Ron

Yeah, I usually can find stuff that way - no dice on Ebay or Amazon. One Mopar parts warehouse canceled my order - says that part number doesn't fit my VIN. Can anyone verify this is correct shifter boot? Most of the Mopar parts websites stock it but no pictures anywhere. There are a
couple CF threads about it, no one ever verifies that they got one and it fit?
Part plus shipping would be $25 or less, maybe I should just try it?

Thanks!

I spent 8 years at Pope AFB in Fayetteville NC. Beautiful country and loved pulled pork. Used to go to Wilmington a lot too. Where in NC are you located?
Ron

Possibly. I think they just want to sell it as assembly with column shifter? When there is a pic of new shifter assy, boot is on there. Mine is black, any other colors than that?

This is what always shows up with the online parts warehouses. Part #15(or other random number) with no picture or drawing whatsoever??

If a dealer is close, go to the parts dept. you'll be sure what you need, and as mentioned before might not be that much at the dealer.

My closest dealer is about 30+ min, and one I like the best is over an hour.

So I emailed alot of the online warehouses and finally got a reply from one with pictures. Sure looks right so I'm ordering one to try.

It's more worth the trip if there is a good bbq or seafood restaurant by the dealer:D

We used to drive from Fayetteville to Elizabeth Town about once a month for smash burgers an chili slaw dogs.:p
