6BT harmonic balancer for 4BT????

On another site, a gentleman was stating that they always use 6BT Marine dampers/balancers on their 4bt's.



This allegedly makes a huge difference. Anyone have any experience with this.

I recall seeing two types of dampners for the 4bt, one is rubber for the 4bt and the other is silicone for the higher rated 4bta engine... .

I work on 4BTs in bread trucks all ours have no damper just a steel puley bolted to crank 4BT and 4BTA same puley and they viberate alot

whole lot of shaken going on-not !

Since i'm using a 5 speed getrag, I attached a 6bta flywheel and to my surprise , a smooth idle and mid range, even when attached to jack stands... i'll follow up with a report after it is installed... ...

Does anyone have Cummins p/n for the 6bt dampener or any aftermarket unit substitutes information?
