Here I am

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 6Bt is in my scout. It has a bit of a lope at idle. Why?

Well It is finally in there and running. It has a bit of a lope. Ive got it idling at about 600 rpm. I read some of you other guys with 370s and GSKs have lope as well. I hop that is all it is. It goes away as soon as you give it a little throttle. I hope it isn't a slighly week cylinder. It's no big deal as long as it's nothing serious. If you want to see some pics go here. :http://community.webshots.com/album/44268533sCvIJm I still got work to do before it's drivable. Sorry about the poor quality of the pics but I am just learning about digital photography and all the computer stuff. If any one knows how to change them to Jpegs I would post them here.

T. Baker, Try raising your idle speed up to 750-800 rpm. At 600 rpm the govenor is probably affecting the idle quality.

I really like a slow idle! Fast idle dosen't sound good to me but I had to raise it because on of the gear levers was viberating. I think it is in the 700 rpm range now. That seemed to cure the lope as well. Thanks for the replies.

Treven.

Just a guess, but the GSK springs are a little "looser" than stock, and it might just be the governor hunting because of the springs. I seem to remember that others with your setup would have their exhaust brakes engaged to add a little backpressure and dampen the idle. My guess. You did a great job on the conversion. Greg

AAARGGHH!!!! I MUST HAVE ONE NOW!

Now you have done it. Another bad idea is brewing. The 77 Scout frame front-half to go under the 1960 Dodge Town and Country is not going to be the same without a CTD snuggled in between the rails.

Is the radiator and intercooler going to fit up front OK or did you have to move the engine back a bunch to sneak them in? Are you using a Dodge trans/transfer case or the original Scout boxes? Any cowl rework needed?

Brake booster and heater/AC equipment are nestled far enough out of the way on the sides but did you have any problem with the steering line?

I WANT ONE!!! I WANT ONE!!!

Great job on it. Would love to see it. Going to be in San Diego and then Ontario area early next month - how far to you?
