Just got back from the big concrete show in Vegas. Dodge was displaying a 6SP case but no cutaway. It did not appear to have any guts.

The Dodge rep (not factory, but knowledgeable?) said that the 6SP has been redesigned from the case up because of various problems.

Can anyone verify this? Any details?

I can't answer your question on the 6 speed but I can say that you have to be careful with those "Reps". In spring of 99 while I was waiting for my truck to come in I was at a local car show.
(now remember, I was completely ignorant of diesels at that time) They had a Cummins Rep there so I thought I would get some questions answered. I asked how come if a diesel has so much more compression that a gas engine why do you need an exhaust brake to help slow you down. He couln't give me an answer. At least he didn't make something up! But I figured he's a factory rep, he should know this engine inside out... ... wrong!

Having looked inside the 6 speed I'm not sure they could completely redesign it and have it as dtrong as this one. Sure there have been some problems but they so far seem to be tolerences with mainly the synchronizers. I have had mine replaced and even though the 1st one was bad it still performed good. This new one is as good as I've drove in any vehicle. Maybe they will just tweak this one a little. Pete
