I was looking on the Dodge website for building a Ram 3500 and noticed the $400 optional 6spd HD manual transmission. Is that the NV5600 or a different version of the G56? Thanks..... Jim

We got quoted a better deal at one dealership but had to pay more at another to get the right truck. I hope the g56 turns out to be reliable. We run really big loads, and have never broken a nv 5600, so we didn't want to change. On one run I went through Dallas and found an NV5600 truck w/ 3700 miles on it. The dealership claimed to have sold it to a customer that was moving to CA and had to buy it back because it didn't meet the CA emissions. They tried to get new money out of it, and wasted alot of my time finding out why it had mileage on it. maybe the CA emissions is that strict or it's a way for CA to protect it's dealers and force you to buy within CA?Another way to tell the trannies apart is the g56 has reverse on thdrivers side and down, the nv5600 is to the passenger and up.
