6X6 Stickers on a DUALLY????

Fords new rig and Dodge owners here say the same thing in ALOT of posts?

SInce when is a dually a 6X6?

6 wheel drive is technically categorized as :

6 wheels

6 separate axles (IE NOT DUALLY)

ANd further descriptions include:

Locked axles =

6 wheels driving

Rear steering =

6 axles turning

SO it is possible to have a 6X6X6X6!



NOw all of this information is based on the same information that we get our Term 4X4 from and all of that comes from the railroad designations for how many "trucks" are Steering and how many "Axles" are driving... IE. . 2-4-2



IE somebody tell Ford to remove the sticker... Its just for Ego's... it aint right

But wait - Maybe they are only suppose to be on the 6 tired 6 passenger rigs - Would that not be a 6x6 ?

Because the discription has nothing to do with the # of people that sit inside... .

A four wheel drive dually is a 4x4. A tandem axle semi with dual rear drive axles is considered a 6x4. To me that means the first number means the number of wheel locations (either single or dual) and the second number is the number of driven wheel locations. Just my 2 cents. Remember when Bigfoot first came out... its claim to fame was that it was a 4x4x4. 4 wheels, 4wheel drive, 4wheel steering.

The first number is the number of wheel positions.

The second number is the positions that are driven.



A 4x4 mean four tire positions on the ground with all four driven. It does not tell how many tires at the positions.

I would like one of them stickers and I really don't care what the correct terminallogy is. My truck is a 6X6, if you don't beleave me just look at my signature.

Ditto !!! Regardless of the correct terminology, a well made "6X6" decal would look cool .
