Off Roading What tires fit stock 2500

Competition lowest hp with highest torque

I have started looking into tires and treads. I like Toyo M55 spec. I noticed that they make a LT265/75R16 that is 10. 8 wide on a 7. 5 rim. Does anyone know were to buy 7. 5 steel rims to run this tire and keep the stock center caps and chrome. If not I guess I will be into aluminum rims for a dually with spacers? Any advice on conversions keeping with 16" rims?

If you change the centerline of the tire outboard or inboard, you lower the weight capacity of the axle due to higher leverage of the weight on the bearings and spindles, etc.

You have a very good point. Since I intend to tow heavy 40' 5th wheel I will keep things stock and buy the tires that will fit a standard setup. Thanks for the reminder of leverage. This is exactly why this forum is so useful. We can run ideas past lots of knowledgeable people to make sure we don't make mistakes.

Seems to me that the centerline of duallies with no spacer would be the same as the centerline of the single stock tire. With a half inch spacer, the centerline would move out 1/4 inch. If that is correct, there's probably not much additional leverage to worry about.
