7.5" Rims on 3500? Possible with Spacers?

I have started looking into tires and treads. I like Toyo M55 spec. I noticed that they make a LT265/75R16 that is 10. 8 wide on a 7. 5 rim. Does anyone know were to buy 7. 5 steel rims to run this tire and keep the stock center caps and chrome. If not I guess I will be into aluminum rims for a dually with spacers? Any advice on conversions keeping with 16" rims?

you might want to give stockton wheel a call. they make all kinds of custom wheels. they might be able to make you up a set. . don't know of the price though. .

You might want to check your clearance from the hub to the frame. I have 7. 5" rims but with wheel adapters that are at least 1. 5" thick (maybe 2" or more, never measured it). Even with the adapter, there isn't a lot of room between the tire and the frame. I have about 1. 6" clearance.

You might want to ask the guys at Rickson Wheels. They sell 19. 5" with a 7. 5" width for the really big truck tires. Just another option. B. T. W. they have an online catalog in the form of a .pdf file.

I would like to go to Rickson rims and tires except for the gear ratio I have now is 3. 54. So for now I am having to settle for 16" rims. I wouldn't mind running a wider tire but someone made the point about leverage and towing. This has made me think twice about just using the stock rims with the wider tires. Nice custom extended fenders RADdodge. Another reason to think twice about trying to go to wide.

Morepower: I hate to burst your bubble but wider tires are also taller tires. I was also concerned about this but found our that the 2500 that I had previously had larger tires that the lowest profile 19. 5"s.



Keep in mind that the larger 19. 5" tires with the 7. 5" wide rims will give you a much bigger tire. The narrower 19. 5" will not significantly increase the tire diameter. You can also get a better traction tire that is rated for more load than a 16" tire.



That has been my biggest issue with the 16" is that I can not find the tread type that I am interested in with that is more than a load range C. And I refuse to use anything less than a load range E tire. I can find all that I want (and more) in a 19. 5 with a load range F and G. And I only increase the diameter of the tire by 1" which is still less than the stock tires that I had on my 2500. My 2500 had a 12V and went down the road just fine. My 3500 has a 24V and it is even nicer.



The downside is the cost of replacing the rims.



Rickson does look like the "do the right thing" for mounting and balencing. I have run on tires that were trued and match before and they run much smoother and last longer.
