2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 7-pin trailer plug

anyone know have a wiring diagram for the factory 7-pin trailer plug, got into a minor fender bender (car hit the hitch only) and smashed the trailer plug and the factory harness, so I figured I would just solder in a new aftermarket connector, problem is the factory harness has 8 wires going to it and ofcourse they are not rv standard colors. any help is greatly appreciated.

both are a great help, but what i need to know is the 8 wires in the factory harness, what each one of them is for and why there are 8 going to a 7 pin harness

fireman -- hopefully this image will turn out... it identifies each of the 8 wires used in the factory connecter that attaches to the back of the 7-pin plug. If you can't read it pm me and I'll e-mail ya a better/bigger copy.



looks like 8 wires is 'cuz there b 2 grounds!

I'll just throw out one quik qualification on the table above... it is for a y2k, so it may not be a perfect match for your particular application... probably is, but hey... maybe not. Good luck & glad I could help.
