Seeing as Mrs Doc made me post a picture of me being weird, I'm gonna reciprocate and show a picture of her. I'll be nice though and post a worthwhile topic while I'm at it. :)

At the "Tall Ship" display in Port Huron, Michigan, we had the privilage for touring the Larinda, a schooner that was build by the owner over a 30 year period, starting when he was seventeen years old. The skipper of another ship told me that the owner of the Larinda bought the patent rights to the 7-ton Wolverine diesel engine that is used as auxilary power in the Larinda. Naturally I had to get a look at that baby. Here's a picture of the 100 hp engine and that's Mrs Doc helping out by giving you a little perspective on the size of the engine.

Doc

Yeah, just 100 hp - They also said full throttle is 350 rpm and it'll lul you to sleep. The engine requires oiling hourly, when they use it.

Doc

It's a 1928, Vaughn, restored by the owner, according to the handout that I got. Why would the owner buy the patent rights to anything that old? How long to patents last?
