SALaw has a baby!

Anyone follow Biblical prophesy? I don't, but I know someone that is really saavy. He claims that there will be a 7 year deal of peace and @ the end of the 7 years is THE armageddon.

Anyone up on this?

I used to watch Jack Van Impe. Either his time changed, or the cable channesl did. Cant find him anymore.

I dont know if I believe what he says word for word, but some things are very strong coincidence at least.

I used to read Bibical Archology review, some pretty cool stuff in there too.

Eric

PS Some scholars believe the armageddon described in the Bible already happened.

I dont.

Read the book series "Left Behind". The author takes the biblical end times and puts the process into a fictional setting. I've never been able to understand Revelation, but the book series helps put it into modern perspective.

Patriot - If armageddon is defined as the big wipe out ... we still have something to look forward to. :( Hope you're wrong, but ...

klenger - Sounds like a scary book series.

Oh yea, I read a book by John Hagee also. I forgot the name, but I still have it here somewhere.

Pretty thought provoking stuff.

Hey Patriot, glad to know there is another TDR member reading the Biblical Archaeology Review! I never miss an issue! I love the history you read about in each issue.

Armageddon

THere was a series on DVD that I got and watched. I think left behind was just one of the movies about the end and taking of the sign and all. I liked them. As far as the end fast approaching, I feel that is is within my childrens lifetime, if not sooner. if you look at the ten commandments, most everyone violates one or the other everyday. I constantly find myself in violation of "Thou shall not Covet". I catch myself and am thankful for what I do have.

The book left behind is a novel that relies on the "Rapture Theory". The true Biblical based answer to that fiction has been released and is named "Truth left behind". The "Rapture" myth was introduced by a Jesuit Priest by the name of Emmanuel Lacounza but he wrote under the pen name Rabai Ben Ezzra. The name of his book was "The coming Messiah". The Catholic Church banned the book so that it's members would not read it. The Jewish community immediatly recognized it as a fake. But the Protestant community swallowed it hook, line, rod, reel and tackle box. A serious student of the scriptures cannot begin to make the rapture myth stand the test. It is a lie from hell... ... ... ... ... For those of you who for some reason cannot understand the book of Revelation, I will be glad to enroll you in a Revelation Seminar that you can do at home. Once you understand the keys to unlocking Daniel and Revelation, the rest is just study. Time is so very short... ... ... ... . do not be decieved!

Carlin

Did anyone catch George Carlin on HBO the other night. He cut all ten comandments down to two. Thou shall not be dishonest and thou shall not kill, unless they really, really need to be killed... ... ... ... ... ...

One of the consequences of having been around for a few years (67) is that you have seen these things come along every few years.

In 1988, there were some widely believed predictions that (for what ever reason I can't recall now) that 1988 was to include the biblical second comming.

The famous event predictor of the 70s was a guy named Cayse (sp), claimed to have predicted all sorts of things and had a huge following of people; he had much of the west coast sufferring such a huge quake that much of california was going to fall into the pacific, again in 1988.

My Mother was a very devout christian, and student of the bible. I recall her talking about studies showing that the end predicted in Revelations was upon us--course that was while I was in the Navy, some time in the late 1950's

In a few more years there will be another rash, just as there were some in the 50's and in the 60's and etc etc

At Wallmart today the cashier only charged me for one case of oil. (Rotella)

I asked how many did she ring up? She said one. I told her I had two.

And he added one new one, "Thou shall keep thy religion to thyself. "

The older I get the more I realize that I don't know anything and that mankind doesn't know anything. I think everyone should believe what they want as long as they keep it to themselves and don't try and control others with their dogma :( The sky is falling the sky is falling :D

"You are 1 step closer".....

Actually, not really:

EPH 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast... .

Regarding the 7 years... . It is my understanding that at some point there will be a "returning to God" in Israel. The Temple will be rebuilt (Israelis are in control of the temple mount right now as of last week) and sacrifices re-instituted. The anti-Christ when he comes to power as the leader of a "new world order" will make a peace deal with Israel. He will keep it for 3. 5 years and then he will break it and proclaim himself to be God in the temple in Jerusalem. This in the Bible is called the "Abomination of Desolation" It marks the the midpoint of the 7 year tribulation. The second 3. 5 years is called the "great tribulation" and will consist of the judgmenents of God in Revelation.

As far as the anti-Christ proclaiming himself to be God, the scriptural consensus is that the world will believe him. His rise to power will be accompanied by great "signs and wonders". In other words he is going to be a political mastermind and will provide apparent solutions to the majority of world problems at the time.

Are the current events the buildup for Armegeddon? I dont think so. Keep an eye on that temple mount though... To rebuild the temple, the Muslim holy places will have to come down that are sitting there now. The Dome of the Rock, etc. That is not going to make the Arab world very happy:eek:
