I paid $1995 for the 7/100k $100 deductable when I bought my truck. Probably not the best deal around, but I was able to finance it with the truck loan at 0% for 4 years.

Check out Geico's mechanical break down insurance. A friend of mine was telling me about it, seems it is better coverage than most extended warranties and is only $16 every 6 months so over 7 years that is only $224. You have to get your policy through them and it has to be a somewhat new vehile with less than xx miles and only ever registered in your name. Worth looking into.

I've got the GEICO mechanical breakdown coverage. Used it once on another vehicle. In addition to the modest upcharge on the annual premium you do have to pay $250 deductible for each repair and you are expected to call for authorization prior to having the work done. Geico covers everything except for maintenance and you can have the work done anywhere. Coverage also is for 7 years/100,000. I've thought about getting the Chrysler policy, particularly after reading all of the cases here about costly service visits. But with everyone complaining about how unreasonable the dealers are about warranty claims I figure I'd just be giving the stockholders my money.

When I made my deal for the truck, I got mine really cheap can't remember the price.

I was told that if it wasn't used they would refund me the full premiun. .

p. s. it was the chrysler policy

Whiskey, make sure you follow the fine print. That's an option not available on all policies sold by Chrysler. If you have it the fine print says you have to be the original owner and never file a claim for the term (time, not miles) of the warranty. Also, you have to send a form in requesting the refund. Still not a bad deal. I'd rather get my money back than have to use the coverage.

go to Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles and talk to Diane. It's the official chrysler warranty and she sells them for about $60 over cost.

I can vouch for this warranty source. The dealership is in a small town. Call the number on the phone and you get to talk to a live person with no run around. If Dodge has any special offers in play you get them as well. What I also like about them is that the prices are listed (menu) on the website, no filling out a form for an e-mail quote. Just bought the Max Care 7/85 $50 deduct for far less than my local dealer quoted me.
