... but I chickened out with 655 on the odometer and 22 on the DTE. I would have had to drive around wasting fuel to end up being near a gas station when I hit 700. I didn't think about it until the last 100 miles or so, so I wasn't driving very conservatively. This tank I think I could hit 700 no problem since I topped off the tank. If I have a long drive that I could keep it around 55, I think I could hit 800! I am very impressed with the fuel mileage and I don't want to change anything that might effect it for the worse. I am thinking of a larger exhaust and afe filter, but no box for me. My DTE when I refilled last night was 606.

Anyone here have a stock fuel tank and hit 700 miles on a tank? Any 800's?

I could have hit it on a road trip. I just filled up yesterday and had 559 on the odometer almost all city driving. A road trip would have easily gone 700 or more.

I made a trip from Mass. to Bethel Maine and back 454 miles on just over a half tank. 22. 2 mpg TST on 3/3. Hand calc. of course. . overhead read 20. 5 I set criuse on 65 for rte. 95 and went 50-60 on rte. 26. I think I could have got 800 out of the tank but my usual driving is only 50% highway and I usually end up with 17-18 mpg for all around driving. Love my Truck... .

GEM,

I gained almost 3 mpg putting the TST on 3/3 from stock. I had about 5000 on it when I added the TST. I am almost 10,000 now so I am not sure if the mileage is helping the break-in. The best I had ever seen prior to the TST was 18. 5 driving 65mph highway. Added the TST and saw over 20 on my first long drive and alot more fun...

I typically get 550-600 on a tank for my weekly normal driving. I am sad when I read the stories from others like yourself getting poor mileage and no help anywhere to correct it. It has to be something wrong to get this much range between good and bad mileage. Injectors... or turbo... something major has to be the reason. Wish I could help but this is my first diesel and I am learning as I go.

Where are you from?

Last tank for me was 744 miles on 28. 34gal filled to the brim. Normal driving back and forth to work (roughly 30 miles one way at 55-65mph and varied traffic).

My mileage has always been pretty good, about 19mpg when new and consistanly in the 22-24 range now with just under 19,000 miles. The truck is a 600, 6sp, 2wd, quad.

Every time I do some hauling the mileage improves with the next empty tank. The truck was run hard after 150miles on it. I think this had alot to do with the good mileage in the beginning.

Still running dino oil with changes every 5000miles or so.

I was suprised also. The previous tank unloaded was 24. 5mpg. The tanks inbetween were pulling a 7x18 enclosed trailer at 75mph and averaged 12. 6mph. I think really working the motor has helped. The only mod is an AFE drop-in air filter. Of course now I'm trying to get into the 27's.

I think I have the record! 823 miles on one completely topped off tank.

2004 2500 with the 305/555, Edge EZ on level 5, 315 tires (yes the spedo is correct) and 69 mph for almost every mile of the way. I sputtered to a stop at 823 miles which if I recall correctly was about 90 past the DTE.

hmmm i gotta get in on this one, lets see i have a 34gallon tank, lets just say i know for a fact filled all the way up before leaving home :D i have gotten 620 miles out of a tank but like most, road trips seem to help the mpg average, im not sure what that comes to in mpg for me, but i would be safe to say i had at least another 5-7 gal in the tank at the 620 mile mark. i usually get anywhere from 300-315 miles from a half tank, take in mind thats filled all the way up to the fuel cap.

I have 92300 miles on the odometer.

When I filled up after running out, I think it held almost exactly 41 gallons up to the vent tube in the neck. I posted the exact numbers at one point if you want to search for them.)

689 miles on a trip from Vegas back east along I -40, somewhere in eastern New Mexico, I finally had to transfer from aux. tank, could've probably pulled another 30-40 miles out of it but... .
