I just replaced the fuel transfer pump ,2 new batteries and alternator .

And I was wondering if the Turbo charger might go next and it is a big deal to replace ?

I don't see why it'd need to be replaced. Unless there are huge nicks/chips in the fan blades or there's excessive play in the shaft, then it should be good for quarter-million miles or more.

Let it cool down after running it hard too. I let my truck idle till the turbo/egt's are 300*F or less.

If you need to change out your turbo at 71K, there's something wrong.

x2... ... It should last the half-life of the engine... . which i believe to be 350K. Poor oil quality and excessively hot shutdowns are about the only thing that can shorten that life... well, other than something going thru it. They don't respond well to valve pieces, june-bugs, filter pieces... etc... . hahaha. .

The turbo on my '01 went over 700,000 miles before being replaced. That was with 10,000 to 13,000 miles oil changes. The tech couldn't feel any abnormal play at all but it was making noise.

Godspeed,
Trent

Is there something you've done that makes you suspect the turbo might be in bad shape? Otherwise I fail to see any direct relationship between the batteries, alternator, LP fuel pump, and the turbo.
