You guys that have put in the Moog 7226S front springs, how have they held up? Did the drivers side sag back down? Do you think you need the drivers side shim?

I'm going to do my front springs, cause they're junk, and was wondering if I should put in the shim? I don't want to do it twice.

TIA,

They held up great and stayed level for 4 years. In fact, they held up so well they beat a steering sector and a set of shocks to death. I took them out and went back to the HD springs. On a heavier truck they may have been ok but they definitely caused some issues with my 250 and how it is used.

I'd put in the shim. I didn't and still have a little lean. Holding up ok after two years.

Regards, DBF

No bigger than you are, Pete, I'd leave the shim out. It lasted 15 years. Are you going to have it that long? Would the shim cause a lift on the left side?

If you have some lean/ sag, check your lower control arms for bending or sagging. That, or go on a diet:-laf

The Super Duty springs sitffened the ride in Mom's truck, but not too bad.

I was on Rock Auto and searched the 7226S number, it's for mid '70's trucks.

Just a FYI. ;)

DP, I plan on keeping this until the cab rots off it again. :D

No. they make the truck ride like a Caddy. I love it myself.

I have used both the 7226 and the NAPA version of the 7226S. I like the heavier units although I could see only 1/4" difference in length. The coil is the same sized wire and O. D. etc. etc.

I have a set of nApA ones and Car Quest ones. Be sure to get the "S" as the 7266 springs are a different part number.

Hey Pete, all... Isn't there two versions of these 7226 and 7226S, harsh ride and harsher bleeding spleen ride?

Yes there is. The regular 7226 is a HD while the S version is for super duty, like motor homes. Actually they rode good but were just really hard on the components and caused a lot more road harshness to come thru. My truck just did not like them as well as I thought it should.
