Now, before you all start pshawing that it can't happen to us, look at this one comment: "A pro mod type car with a Torqueflite... ... . silly boy, shoulda been a Lenco" There is a certain Diesel drag racer that has been eating Lencos all this summer. TORQUE means something!!!!

The world famous self proclaimed NON-Drag Racer Sled Puller flapping his jaws about something again he knows NOTHING about AND critizing someone about a accident he knows nothing about. Stick to sled pulling Gene your out of you league here.



Its easy to see what happened there to someone who knows just by looking at the damage. Yes,it was a torqueflite but by looking at the damage on the bell blanket it was a Clutch-Flite version meaning there was NO torque convertor it had a some type of clutch instead. It looks like either the clutch came apart or the flywheel broke and came through the bell and bell blanket. This style of transmission has been used for years in drag racing and at one time was in every Funny car out there and every fueler. They are still very popular in Competition eliminator,the 8. 90-9. 90-10. 90 super classes,top sportsman and pro mod. When built coprrectly they are as tough as a Lenco and provide faster et's than one. Torque didn't break that rpms did,if you have ever seen a pro mod car with a blower motor leave they twist them just like a alcohol funny car and leave at or near 10,000 rpm. Anything can happen at that,but then again,long ago when you pulled you should know that... ... ... Andy
 
Andy, you missed my point entirely, maybe I wasn't clear.



I was quoting somebody else that said it should have been a Lenco.





The torque means something was directed at a Diesel thats chewing up Lencos, not to the gasser dragracer.
