I have an 89 D250 with torqflite 727 auto. I’m unable to move the shift lever into reverse or park. However I am able to shift into drive, 2nd and 1st. Is it an adjustment issue or internal?
I would disconnect the shift linkage at the transmission and try to move the lever ON THE TRANS to see if you have full range movement. If not, something in the valve body/park rod is jammed. If the trans lever moves properly, you have a linkage issue, not a trans issue.
Truck/driveline has 165k. Drove it to work that morning, went right into reverse and park then. I was hoping it was nothing major as last weekend I parked on a little incline, put park brake on and it popped off, causing truck to drift forward. Seemed like it went further than it should of in park. Thanks for your help!
