Dodge/M135 6x6 Conversion

Swapping Dana 60/70 from 92 W250 to 80 Chevy K20?

OK, I think I'm going to convert my '80 K20, but not so sure yet. . I have a complete 92 W250 w/ cummins, 3. 54s and a NV4500, figured I would just put the whole engine/trans/transfercase in and not mess w/ the GM 205 in the Chevy, I believe the Dodge one has a stronger mainshaft anyway? Who makes motor mounts besides autoworld? I think I've seen some Ebay ones, any good? Anyone have any blueprints/templates? Do I need to make a new rear(transfercase) crossmsmber? Will all of the dodge accessories fit the chevy chassis? What do I need to do with the alternator? Do the axles from a Dodge fit the Chevy easily? Any help would be appreciated. -Nick

Yes it can be done I have pics of my cummins burb swap ,



you need to do some trimming to some key areas of the frame and some metal massageing of the cab



you use the dodge alternator and ac bracket but cummins has anouther bracket avalible that would be better , you use a old mopar voltage regulator



for the slave cylender advance adapters or novak has a fitting to simplify

the mateing of clutch parts from gm to mopar without odd ball splices



need 85 and newer pedals unless you swap out for a bread truck

bell houseing setup for mechanical pedals .



I bought my motor mounts From TDR Member Scott Oswalt his mounts put your engine in the factory location .



you will also need a 4"lift for oil pan clearance issues , you might make it with a 3" but no less , i could have gotten away with a smaller lift , i got a



8"sprung front /6 " rear and it has sagged 2" the make is Superlift heavy duty

lift springs , soft ride are too small



A good spring shop that knows spring rates could build you a set as well
