Competition Compression Ratio Question

i have a 75 dodge 3/4 ton with dual dana 60's i am looking to do cross over steering on this because plane an simple ... . steering sucks. :{ i have no clue on where to start with this so i am looking for a little imput. what do i need?? ... . what is it going to take?? are there any good kits out there that i can buy and if so where do i get them??

Before you get too far, look at the joints on the steering shaft. The Dodges were notorious for goin' bad at that time. That alone may solve much of your problem.



I'm assuming you have a non-stock steering arm on the steering gear?
 
With that much lift, you NEED cross over.



check out blue torch fab on the web. They sell the stuff you need.
 
On my 77 M880 I have done crossover on it. I used a steering arm for the passenger side knuckle from Off Road Design as well as one of their bent draglinks (helps clear engine crossmember), HD tie rods and 4 1 ton version tie rod ends. I bought a drop pitman arm from a local offroad shop (superlift p/n 1104) and moved my steering box back on the frame. You will have to build or buy a new steering shaft, probably need to anyway if you are still using the stock one, cause the current one will be too long.



All the parts from ORD are very beefy and you can't go wrong. Bluetorch stuff is very nice as well, but they don't offer a bent draglink.
