'77 Mercedes upgrades?

My tire man at Sam's Club has a '77 Mercedes 4-cylinder. He would like to know about performance upgrades. I mentions intake, (aFe, K&N, BHAF), larger exhaust with mendrel bends/unrestricted muffler. Does anyone else know of any other good ideas, or upgrades that will help perfromance

not much that old turd can do it's amazing it's still chugging, most of the 240s are gone due to a combo of rust and the fact that a rebuild costs a few times what the car is worth (and you only can get a couple outta the block, not sleaved like the 300s), a decent exhaust may help but i am not sure if a intake will do much, the stock filter is pretty good sized and the port in the intake manifold is pretty small, my old 75 a intake helped a good bit but those had a tiny oil bath that was like sucking though a drinking straw
